Clermont County Tea Party Events

Don't forget to check the tab "Clermont County Government" on this site for meetings & web sites of local government. A sub-tab of that includes reports of our Tea Party leaders who are keeping track of Federal, State and Local happenings in government. Attending trustee/commissioner meetings and school board meetings can be very educational and also help to hold our elected officials accountable; please consider attending some of these meetings.

Sarah Palin movie, Undefeated. It has had a limited release across the country. It is showing through this Thursday (8/4) at the AMC Theatres at Newport on the Levee.

Here is a link to the AMC Newport 20 Theatres for updates.

Here also is a link to the movie trailer and the film's website.

Of course, this is not an endorsement of any candidate for President! How many of you attended McCain/Palin rallies and saw the reaction that Sarah Palin got from crowds here? She was immensely popular. Arguably, John McCain would have gotten trounced even worse were she not on the ticket.

Clermont County Tea Party meeting is Tuesday, August 2, 7pm at the Holiday in Eastgate. The guest speaker this month is Greg Lawson from the Buckeye Institute.

Greg's presentation is entitled, "The Cost of Ohio Government." It is always fascinating to hear analysis and facts from Buckeye on the "state of our state." For example,

Collectively, Ohio's 615 school districts are projected to be $7.6 billion in debt by 2015, with 96 percent of all revenue collected spent on compensation package costs. School board members who work for unions are not required to abstain from participating in the collective bargaining process or from voting on union contracts. The highest paid state worker in 2010 more than doubled his salary ($151,200) by earning overtime pay of $174,480. This year, 10 Cincinnati employees were eligible for unused leave and sick payouts of over $200,000 each. One employee banked 10,587 hours of time for a payout worth $437,857.
